The information in the IDF report on the April 1 hit on the World Central Kitchen that killed seven makes clear what should have been suspected sooner and anticipated. The drone attacks on the WCK aid convoy was not a simple error in identification but a clever trap created by Hamas to induce this result. The IDF was suckered.

How did Hamas do it? After the aid intially arrived from the sea, on a make shift pier, it was accompanied at first by Hamas gunmen, in their vehicles, who at points climbed onto and into the WCK vehicles, firing wildly in all directions, and accompanied the vehicles into a storage depot. It was a clever decoy, designed to attract the IDF’s attention and to induce a reaction and misidentification — exactly what happened.

The eyes IDF saw what happened and they tried to get in touch with WCK abroad, but without success.

When the three vehicles emerged again from the depot, it was mistakenly assumed by the IDF that the gunmen were still on the vehicles. It’s possible that the three armed UK security men, with weapons, were confused with Hamas gunmen. As a result, they believed that the vehicles contained terrorists, not WCK aid workers.
