Netanyahu: UK, France, Canada “Rewarding Hamas”

Netanyahu says Western leaders embolden terror and ignore realities on the ground. Outrage in Israel as UN official’s absurd “blood libel” of 14,000 babies expected to starve in 48 hours is actually picked up and repeated by “reputable” news outlets.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has escalated his rhetorical offensive against the governments of the United Kingdom, France, and Canada, accusing them of effectively endorsing terrorism by urging Israel to halt its military operations in Gaza. In his strongest rebuke yet, Netanyahu declared that these Western allies were “offering a prize” to Hamas for its October 7 massacre of Israelis, and accused them of adopting rhetoric that rewards terror while undermining Israel’s right to self-defense.

“The leaders in London, Ottawa, and Paris are offering a huge prize for the genocidal attack on Israel on October 7 while inviting more such atrocities,” Netanyahu said in a statement issued by his office. “When mass murderers, rapists, baby killers, and kidnappers thank you, you’re on the wrong side of justice.”

The remarks were triggered by a joint declaration from UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who criticized Israel’s military campaign as “disproportionate” and warned of potential diplomatic consequences should Israel continue its Rafah operation. The joint statement urged Israel to “cease its military operations immediately” and facilitate unrestricted humanitarian aid access to Gaza.

Netanyahu rejected these demands as hypocritical and strategically reckless. “By asking Israel to end a defensive war for our survival before Hamas terrorists on our border are destroyed and by demanding a Palestinian state, these leaders are offering a huge prize for the genocidal attack on Israel on October 7,” he said.

He also reiterated his longstanding position that Hamas is not interested in Palestinian statehood, but in Israel’s annihilation. “Hamas does not want a Palestinian state,” he said. “It wants the destruction of the state of Israel and the annihilation of the Jewish people.”

The backlash from the Prime Minister’s Office reflects deep concern in Jerusalem that Western leaders are being swayed by distorted media narratives and exaggerated humanitarian claims that fail to hold Hamas accountable. Among the most controversial of such narratives was a widely reported statement by a senior UN official last week, who claimed that “14,000 babies could die within 48 hours” if fuel and aid were not immediately allowed into Gaza.

The number, which was not accompanied by evidence or a source, was nevertheless repeated by several international outlets without scrutiny. Israeli officials dismissed the statement as “absurd propaganda,” noting that no attempt was made by those repeating the claim to verify whether such a figure had any basis in fact. “This isn’t journalism. It’s manufactured outrage designed to weaponize suffering against Israel,” said an Israeli diplomatic source.

Critics of the international media have highlighted the speed with which the 14,000-baby claim went viral—appearing on major news networks and in Western capitals—while Hamas’s use of hospitals, schools, and UN facilities for weapons storage and combat operations continues to be underreported. The Israeli government has released video and intelligence documentation confirming that tunnels have been found under key civilian infrastructure, but these revelations have received limited coverage.

Netanyahu’s sharp criticism of his Western counterparts appears to be supported by many Israelis, who increasingly view international calls for “restraint” as thinly veiled attempts to pressure Israel into accepting ongoing terrorism from Gaza. That sentiment has been amplified by statements of gratitude from Hamas officials themselves, who praised the UK, France, and Canada for their “principled position” in calling for a halt to Israeli operations. For Netanyahu, that acknowledgment underscored the danger of legitimizing Hamas through misguided international diplomacy.

“We will not be lectured by countries that failed to prevent the murder of their own citizens on our soil,” Netanyahu said, referencing the dozens of foreign nationals killed or taken hostage during the October 7 attacks. “Israel is not the aggressor in this war. We are the last line of defense between Western civilization and barbarism.”

On the domestic front, tensions are also rising. In Tel Aviv, thousands of Israelis demonstrated outside the Defense Ministry this week, demanding greater urgency from the government in bringing home the remaining hostages—believed to be around 58, with only 20 confirmed alive. The families of the captives have called on Netanyahu to consider any deal that might ensure their safe return, while others urge a continuation of military pressure as the only way to compel Hamas to yield.

As of May 25, the IDF’s “Operation Gideon’s Chariots” has reportedly struck over 670 Hamas targets, including weapons depots, underground tunnels, and rocket launchers embedded within civilian areas. The campaign has intensified in recent days, even as international criticism mounts.

Despite calls from allies to de-escalate, Netanyahu appears unmoved. “This is not just Israel’s war,” he said. “This is a war for the moral clarity of the free world. If terror is rewarded and defense is condemned, no democracy is safe.”

In the view of Israeli officials and security experts, the real failure lies in Western capitals that have allowed emotional narratives and misinformation to eclipse facts and strategic imperatives. As the conflict continues, Netanyahu’s government shows no signs of yielding to international pressure, insisting that Israel’s objectives remain unchanged: the destruction of Hamas’s military capability, the safe return of all hostages, and the protection of Israeli citizens from future attacks.

Netanyahu KNOWS with whom he is at war; he followed the correct advice, and learned what his enemy is and wants, unlike the propagandized ijits in Canada, Europe and the US! Any babies about to be”starved, it is HAMAS starving them, not Israel!
