Catastrophic Intelligence Failure, or Subversion, May Echo Biblical Tale of Treachery

The “Walls of Jericho” attack plan, executed over-enthusiastically but successfully beyond their wildest dreams by Hamas and rape-hungry local savages on October 7, not only reflects the ancient biblical siege strategy but also uncovers a web of possible internal conspiracy and betrayal within Israeli defense circles. The horrific idea is that an intricate plot, published first in English in the New York Times but revealed in Israel in the course of the ensuing war, orchestrated by military intelligence and internal security leaders, with officers from elite units, allowed Palestinian butcher-perverts allowed to pierce Israeli defense and overrun southern bases and communities, resulting in mass slaughter and abduction, all to humiliate and oust Netanyahu.

In the biblical narrative, the siege of Jericho by Joshua was marked by the crucial role of Rahab, a local prostitute who aided the Israelites by betraying her own city. This act of internal subversion was pivotal in the fall of Jericho’s walls. Here the roles are reversed: Israel was behind seemingly impenetrable walls, while Hamas was running repetitive exercises by the border fence, lulling the sleeping defenders into a false sense of security. More alarmingly, in the contemporary scenario, there’s growing evidence suggesting that members of the Israeli military establishment, vehemently opposed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his judicial reform plans, may have deliberately withheld critical intelligence or undermined defensive readiness, betraying the nation’s security and sacrificing its souls.

Verified reports indicate that key figures in the military intelligence, and within the elite 8200 signal intelligence unit, chose to downplay, stand down, or ignore evidence of imminent threats posed by Hamas, withholding alerts of impending attacks from the political echelon and also local commanders who, with their helpless sleeping soldiers, were exposed without defense to the horrific onslaught of Simchat Torah morning. Could it be that, like Rahab’s betrayal, officers entrusted with the nation’s security might have allowed their hatred of Netanyahu to override their sacred duties and consciences?

In addition to the head of military intelligence, and senior personnel in the Shin Bet, officers in the once-much-vaunted 8200 signal intelligence unit, and pilots in the Israeli Air Force, are under special scrutiny. In the nine months leading up to the Black Sabbath invasion, they repeatedly and publicly threatened non-cooperation over policy disagreements with Netanyahu, shocking acts of disloyalty and politicization in a nation that depends on its reserves as its defense lifeline.

The narrative becomes even more entangled with the recent turn of organizations like “Brothers in Arms” and the Hostage and Missing Forum against Netanyahu. Despite the emergency government’s stunning achievement in negotiating the release of almost all women and children from captivity, these groups have suddenly shifted their stance, openly criticizing his leadership, demanding his resignation NOW! NOW! NOW! Former deep state actors, from the Mossad and Shin Bet, amplify their calls.

This sudden demand, not even a day after violation by Hamas of the release deal terms, echoes the scripts that hostages were made to read on video by their cruel captors. Despite lack of any readiness of Hamas to provide even minimal information or readiness to release any more hostages, the left is against blaming Netanyahu and his government. This self-defeating opposition raises more questions about the rationality, let alone the loyalty, of left-wing dissidents. Even with great compassion for the plight of the remaining captives, cold logic dictates that only intensive military force applied to Hamas can pressure it to free hostages.

These developments suggest a deeply disturbing modern-day ‘Rahab’ scenario. Elite deep state forces within Israel, aligned with the anto-Bibi left, arrogantly motivated by their sense of entitlement to rule the country, might have passively or actively allowed the “Walls of Jericho” plan to proceed unimpeded, alerting no one in the political leadership. Senior officers failed to pass red-light warnings, neither to leaders nor to front-line soldiers, allowing warriors to be slaughtered in their sleep or kidnapped as passive sheep, permitting hundreds of civilians to be raped and dismembered, murdered and abducted en masse. The internal “resistance”, may have believed such a debacle would bring down, like the Walls of Jericho, the duly elected Netanyahu government.

Such a heinous act of rank betrayal, causing the deaths and dismemberment of more than 1300 Israelis and leading to the captivity of 200, would raise acute questions of loyalty and treachery in senior echelons of the defense establishment. Could they be, like Rahab, turncoat whores, venally working in lockstep with the nation’s enemies?

Remarkably, the Netanyahu government and the loyal forces of the IDF and defense establishment, after the humiliating and devastating debacle of October 7, have summoned the wisdom and courage to directly and perform brilliantly on the battlefield. They have pressed on, ferocious lions of Judah, to avenge the massacre and realize the just war aims in this existential fight, obliterating Hamas and freeing the hostages. The loyalists have not succumbed to the backstabbing and defeatism of local media, nor the deep state “experts” and “powers that be” salivating and drumbeating for the downfall of Bibi.

When the war is won, and the indefatigable saboteurs are exposed by following the rope of Rahab, their walls will come tumbling down and that same treacherous rope will stretch to find other uses.
