Biden says Hamas “Gotta Learn How to Shoot Straight”

The reality of a senile and incompetent American President came through in remarks of Joe Biden after his abortive visit to the Mideast, after his proposed summit of moderate Arab leaders fell through. The proximate cause was the rocket misfire that caused a parking lot to be damaged but which was promoted as a massacre in a “courtyard” that supposedly killed 471 people but in fact probably did little more than scorching some Gazan jalopies.

Biden made his remarks at Ramstein AFB in Germany following the confusion and misattribution of responsibility for the incident involving the bombing of was claimed to be a crowded hospital courtyard. Initially, there was widespread misunderstanding and incorrect information about the cause of the explosion, which in fact was in the hospital’s external parking are. Reports had falsely suggested that Israel was responsible for a bombing and massive casualties, but subsequent evidence confirmed that it was Palestian Islamic Jihad group which had accidentally struck the parking lot with a misfired rocket.

Various media outlets initially pointed fingers at Israel for the incident, citing the ‘Gaza Health Ministry,’ which is under Hamas’s control, and early reporting by the BBC, which still refused to say that Hamas is a terror organization. However, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) later released audio purportedly showing Hamas operative reacting to the mistake, reporting that it was the PIJ and that the shrapnel was a local Palestinina origin. They also mentioned that the rockets were fired from a cemetery adjacent to a hospital, though not the same one whose parking lot was hit.

Biden made these remarks during a conversation with reporters. He clarified that he was not suggesting Hamas deliberately targeted the hospital but rather that they needed to improve their accuracy in their actions, stating, “It’s that old thing: Gotta learn how to shoot straight. It’s not the first time that Hamas has launched something that didn’t function very well.”

Suggesting Hamas “gotta shoot straight” was received with disbelief, implying that they should be more accurate when targeting Israeli civilian targets. Biden’s comments came after the canceled summit with Arab leaders in Jordan, a decision influenced by the hospital bombing, which inflamed the Arab street against Israel and provoked violent demonstrations. However, Biden had stated that it was highly improbable that Israel was responsible, basing this conclusion on information from the Defense Department and the intelligence community.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a “squad” member of the U.S. House of Representatives, continues to claim that Israel was behind the parking lot bombing, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. She expressed her concerns and disagreement with Biden’s stance, emphasizing the need to address such incidents involving hospitals and children, even though Hamas has yet to provide evidence of significant casualties despite the vastly inflated death toll they claimed.

This situation underscores the challenges of accurately attributing responsibility in complex conflict zones, where misinformation and initial assumptions can lead to significant diplomatic consequences. But after the latest verbal misfire by a mentally-impaired Biden, shouldn’t the US deserve a President who can talk straight?
