US and Israeli intelligence are reporting a credible threat of a direct attack on Israel from Iran in the coming day
The IDF is on the highest level of alert after US and other intelligence reports both public threats and military movements within Iran which suggest that a direct attack from Iranian territory on Israel may be imminent.
US National Security Agency spokesman John Kirby would not confirm specifically that President Biden warned Prime Minister Netanyahu of CIA reports of an imminent attack on Israel from Iran within 48 hours, but he did acknowledge that Israel was facing a threat from regional actors.
An announcement from the Israeli Prime Minister after last night’s cabinet session said that Israel was prepared to defend itself and take offensive action as well against any threat.
Scenarios being discussed are ground to ground missile attacks from Iran on Israeli bases and infrastructure or large-scale drone attacks.
All IDF weekend leaves have been canceled and air defense reserves have been called up. Unusual air defense activities have been reported in Israel around strategic locations.
There have been reports that Israel has prepared backup generators in case power stations are hit.
