IDF fires on three Gazan terrorists after ceasefire breaches

The Israeli Air Force on Monday fired on three Gazan terrorists who violated the ceasefire by crossing the Yellow Line and approaching Israeli soldiers in the enclave, the military said.

The Yellow Line marks the areas of the Gaza Strip currently under Israeli military control under the terms of last month’s U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Jerusalem and Hamas.

According to the IDF, the three terrorists were fired upon in two separate incidents in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza.

“Following the identification, the IDF struck the three terrorists in order to remove the threat,” the statement said, adding that “hits were identified.”

Soldiers “remain deployed in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat,” it added.

Over the weekend, Israeli forces killed 11 Hamas terrorists who attempted to flee the besieged tunnels in the Rafah area of southern Gaza and arrested six others after a 24-hour manhunt.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office stated on Saturday: “Hamas violated the ceasefire again, sending a terrorist into Israel-held territory to attack IDF soldiers. Israel has fully honored the ceasefire, Hamas has not.”

Throughout the ceasefire, “dozens of Hamas terrorists have crossed the Israeli lines to attack our troops, while they execute Palestinian civilians in Gaza,” the PMO statement continued, calling on mediators to pressure Hamas to fulfill its commitments under the truce agreement.

“Hamas must immediately return the three deceased hostages it is still holding and complete its disarmament and enable the total demilitarization of Gaza,” Jerusalem stated.

The second phase of President Donald Trump’s peace plan calls for the demilitarization of Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist organizations, while eliminating their ability to threaten Israel.

Hamas still holds the remains of three slain hostages, and Israel has accused the group of slow-walking their return to delay disarmament.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told reporters on Sunday that since the ceasefire went into effect on Oct. 10, “Hamas has not stopped violating it, and we are acting accordingly.

“There have been several attempts by them to infiltrate our territory beyond the Yellow Line and try to harm our soldiers,” he declared.

“We thwarted these with great force and responded, exacting a very heavy price,” Netanyahu said. “Many terrorists were eliminated, and others were captured from the tunnels in Rafah.”
