The much-hyped Gaza-bound sea-cruise led by Greta Thunberg reached its inglorious finale early Sunday, not with a bang but a whimper, as Israel’s navy peacefully put paid to the propaganda ploy, diverting the activists to Ashdod, pre-deportation.
What was flogged as a bold humanitarian mission turned out to be a pathetic floating photo-op flop. When the IDF Navy intercepted the Madleen, a UK-flagged yacht operated by the grandiosely-named Freedom Flotilla Coalition, there was no resistance. No high-seas standoff. No live-streamed showdown. Just a subdued and submissive huddle of twelve sad soggy agitators who quietly surrendered and gratefully accepted sandwiches and bottled water from the sailors they came to provoke.
On board were a motley mix of political stuntmen and celebrity activists: Irish actor Liam Cunningham, French-Palestinian MEP Rima Hassan (already barred from Israel for incitement), and Thunberg herself, who just days earlier called the blockade “illegal” and accused Israel of genocide. But in the end, there were no slogans—only silence. And the quiet nibbling of cheese sandwiches.
In a moment that perfectly captured the absurdity of the mission, the flotilla’s organizer ordered all passengers to throw their electronics overboard as Israeli forces approached. Laptops, iPhones, GoPros, satellite phones—all hurled into the sea like digital flotsam. The goal, apparently, was to avoid giving Israel access to footage, messages, and raw material that might expose the truth of the voyage. The erstwhile eco-activists had no problems polluting the high seas.
It was a surreal act of self-sabotage from a group that claims to care about both transparency and the environment. Thunberg, who once scolded world leaders with her cry—“How dare you!”—joined fellow activists turning the Mediterranean into an e-waste dump.
This wasn’t even civil disobedience. It was poorly executed performance art drowning in hypocrisy.
The Madleen carried a symbolic shipment of basic supplies—baby formula, water kits, menstrual products—deliberately small and uncoordinated with any legitimate aid agencies. The goal was never delivery. It was provocation. And yet when Israel dared to respond, the protestors didn’t resist. They self-deleted. Then it was time to eat.
All 12 activists aboard are now being processed for deportation. Rima Hassan’s next entry to Israel will be denied by default. Others will likely find themselves flagged the next time they might try to use Israel as a backdrop for their virtue signaling.
Unlike previous sea confrontations, Israel this time was deliberately subdued. There was no drama, no force, no incident—only a quiet, lawful interception of a propaganda vessel and a calm catered rerouting to the Ashdod port.
Israel’s blockade of Gaza remains firmly in place. Aid continues to flow daily through the official crossings—under Israeli supervision, not under sail or under Hamas guns opening fire on the aid-seekers.
The activists didn’t breach the blockade. They didn’t reach Gaza. They didn’t deliver anything. In the end, their voyage proved nothing but their own publicity-seeking vanity.
The much-pumped pro-Pali flotilla didn’t dare. It dumped.

these are nothing but progressive, self absorbed, anit semitic miscreants. glad that Israel didnt give them a day in the sun

Dungberg is a total idiot as are the leftist media dumbs supporting her. This is so moronic we are ashamed for her who knows no shame in her evil lazy interference of a terrible war upon Israel. Shame on her and her pack of pigs.
Dear David,
Why descend to her level?
We are all well aware of the foolishness displayed by this young woman and very few take her seriously here in Sweden.
She angled a meeting with the Dalai Lama (also treated with disdain here) and the former pope, but as I said, no one takes her seriously. The Swedish media is also very short of “real” news and is very leftish in its propagation of events.
We have to put up with all that.
Perhaps you could find it in your heart to simply forgive her, knowing that the truth will out in any case.
All the best
