The IDF killed 21 terrorists using civilians as human shields near Al-Quds hospital; Israel now estimates the October 7 death toll at about 1200, rather than 1400.

The IDF reported a significant clash at Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City, where troops from the 188th Brigade confronted a terrorist squad that fired upon them with RPGs, resulting in damage to an Israeli tank. The IDF’s response, which included armor, engineering, and infantry forces with air support, led to the elimination of about 21 terrorists, with no Israeli casualties reported​​.

The IDF released a video showing civilians leaving the hospital as terrorists from adjacent buildings mingled among them to attack Israeli soldiers​​. This incident was just the latest example of Hamas using civilian infrastructure for military purposes and using civilians as cover to carry out attacks.

Since the beginning of its counter-invasion, the IDF has targeted over 4,300 terrorist objectives, including around 300 terrorist tunnel shafts, and has destroyed numerous Hamas anti-tank launchers and terrorist installations​​. Moreover, in a separate operation, IDF forces discovered a weapons cache in the bedroom of a child at the home of a senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad official, emphasizing the use of civilian spaces for military activities by Gazan terrorist groups​​.

The Israeli government has revised the estimated number of people killed in the October 7 surprise attack and massacres from 1400 to 1200, including Israeli civilians, soldiers and foreign workers. Experts are still working on identifying burned and dismembered body parts.
