Map Posted by Israel’s Foreign Ministry Sparks Diplomatic Outrage, as Jordanian and Palestinian Media Denounce Historical Claims as ‘Fabrication’ and Secret Israeli Plan for Future. Controversy coincides with release of Israel in Maps, which contains many such disturbing facts of history.

A post by the Israeli Foreign Ministry has ignited a diplomatic storm, particularly in the Arab world, over its depiction of a biblical map rendered in Arabic and showing the borders of Israel extending on both sides of the Jordan River.. Critics argue that the map challenges the sovereignty of Arab nations.

The map, shared by the ministry’s Arabic-language account, illustrated the biblical boundaries of the Kingdoms of Israel and Judea, which biblical narratives describe as extending east of the Jordan River.

Coincidentally, today we release Israel in Maps, the most comprehensive collection of historical maps, charts, and graphs. The book traces the boundaries of Israel from Biblical times to the present day.

“Did you know that the Kingdom of Israel was established 3,000 years ago?” the post began. It detailed the biblical history of kings Saul, David, and Solomon, as well as the division of the kingdom into the northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judea. It also noted their eventual destruction and the exile of their populations by the Assyrian and Babylonian empires.

The post concluded: “However, the Jewish people in the diaspora continued to look forward to the revival of their powers and capabilities and the rebuilding of their state, which was declared in the State of Israel in 1948 to become the only democracy in the Middle East.”

Jordanian and Palestinian media swiftly condemned the map, accusing Israel of promoting “fabrication of history” and harboring “allegations, illusions, and vile aspirations.”

Perhaps because of the following map from the Israel in Maps collection (available in paperback and Kindle ebook on Amazon) and the historical facts: Jordam is the eastern portion of Mandatory Palestine, with a strong Palestinian majority and occupying 78% of the original mandate.
