Without prior warning, and a day after a Houthi drone struck a tourist area in Eilat, the Israeli Air Force struck Houthi terror targets in the city of Sana’a on Thursday afternoon. The strikes, focused on Sana’a, came as Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi delivered a speech. The Saudi Al Hadath channel reported about “13 attacks that targeted military sites in Square Al-Sabeen and in the Bab Al-Yemen neighborhood.” Shortly later, Defense Minister Yisrael Katz confirmed the reports, stating: “We have now delivered a powerful strike against numerous terror targets of the Houthi terror organization in Sana’a. The IDF attacked several military camps, including the Houthi general staff base, eliminated dozens of Houthi terrorists, and destroyed drone and weapons stockpiles. As I promised yesterday – whoever harms us will be struck sevenfold.”     The IDF issued a statement saying, “The IDF has completed a large-scale series of strikes against military targets belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime in Sana’a, deep within Yemen.” “Dozens of aircraft and fighter jets, operating under the intelligence direction of Military Intelligence, targeted the Houthis’ security and intelligence infrastructure and military assets in the Sana’a area. “Among the sites struck were the Houthis’ General Staff command headquarters, compounds of their security and intelligence apparatus, the headquarters of the Houthis’ military propaganda unit, and military camps housing weapons stockpiles and operatives of the terrorist regime. “The strikes were carried out in direct response to Houthi-led attacks against the State of Israel, which included the launch of unmanned aerial vehicles and ground-to-ground missiles toward Israel. “The Houthis’ security and intelligence apparatus, one of the regime’s internal enforcement arms, plays a key role in terrorist activity against Israel that undermines stability in the Middle East. It is also engaged in suppressing regime opponents through the use of political prisons and torture. “The targeted military camps were used to store weapons and to plan and coordinate terrorist operations directed at Israel. “The Houthi terrorist regime operates under Iranian funding and guidance, conducting hostile activity against Israel and its allies. The regime also exploits maritime routes to conduct terrorist operations and threaten international commercial shipping. “The IDF will continue to respond forcefully to ongoing Houthi attacks against Israel. Additional offensive operations will be carried out in the near future.
