<p>According to <i>The New York Times</i>, Cole Tomas Allen who carried out the shooting in Washington acted alone and was not shot or injured by security forces, but was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation.</p>
<p>The federal prosecutor for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, said he is being charged with two counts: using a firearm during a violent crime and assaulting a federal employee with a dangerous weapon.
