Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday met in his office in Jerusalem with Republika Srpska’s acting President Ana Trivić-Babić and former president Milorad Dodik.

Republika Srpska, also known as the Serb Republic, is one of the three political divisions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The premier thanked the visitors for their many years of support for the State of Israel and for the deep friendship between the two peoples, as well as for their steadfast stance against any manifestation of antisemitism, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

Both sides expressed a desire to deepen ties between the countries and to cooperate on various issues, the PMO added.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar had also met with the two Serb leaders, saying on X, “We discussed the mutual threat of radical Islamism in our regions. We appreciate their promotion of Holocaust remembrance, in light of rising antisemitism in Europe and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Serbs are true friends of the Jewish people and the State of Israel!”
