In the last days there has been a steady escalation of fire between Hezbollah and Israel. An Israeli civilian was killed in a border kibbutz. Israeli responded with a strike on a vehicle thought to be carrying terrorists but which Lebanon claims were civilians, a journalist and his family. The IDF is checking the claim.
Sunday evening there were five direct hits of GRAD rockets on the city of Kiryat Shmona, damanging buildings and setting vehicles on fire but causing no casualties. The city has been largely evacuated of its residents.
The activity threatens to be a crossing of the red line that Hezbollah leader Nasrallah warned about in his speech, in which the threatened a massive attack on Israel should it attack civilians.
Each day has brought another level of escalation. Today brought deaths on both sides.
