IDF’s Koranic message to Hamas –“And the Flood Washed Away Their Sins” — is reinforced by flooding system and fierce action

A powerful message from the IDF resonated across social media this Wednesday. A photograph showing the aftermath of recent operations in Khan Yunis, where thousands of Hamas operatives were killed and suspects were detained by the IDF, has gone viral. The image features handcuffed and blindfolded detainees, with the Israeli and Givati Brigade flags in the background, overshadowed by a Koranic quote that symbolizes a stark turnaround for Hamas.

The quote, “…and the flood washed away their sins,” references a sura from the Koran related to the biblical flood. The quote is a smirking response to Hamas’ designation of their October 7 attack as the “Al-Aksa flood.” The IDF’s use of this quote signifies a cruel twist of fate for the attackers, symbolizing that their actions have backfired, engulfing them in their own metaphorical flood.

But the flood is not just metaphorical. The IDF in the past month has been flooding Hamas tunnels where practical after ensuring no hostages would be drowned like rats. It’s not clear whether the captors have earned such immunity from punishment.

The IDF on Tuesday allowed Israeli media to publish details about its anti-tunnel flooding project against Hamas in Gaza. Israeli officials have been leaking details to foreign media about Operatiion Atlantis for months, but till now the censor has prevented Israeli media from disclosing these details. The flooding system is best used near the Mediterranean Sea and cannot be deployed in areas where the IDF is concerned that the flooding could cause long-term damage to Gaza land.

The IDF has reported killing more than 2000 Hamas terrorists in recent days. Khan Yunis has been encircled, and the IDF continues to tighten its grip while systematically closing tunnels, eliminating resistance and taking prisoners from the panicked terrorists cowering in fear and fleeing for their lives.
