GRAPHIC: Victims sexually assaulted by Palestinians on October 7 were killed before, during or after rape. Many had their genitals amputated or mutilated. And the sexual torment has continued for hostages. (Warning: This story includes deeply disturbing descriptions and testimony.)
A report analyzing testimonies from the October 7 onslaught on southern Israel relating specifically to sexual violence reveals that Israelis often were forced by Palestinian attackers to watch loved ones be raped and sexually assaulted. The report by the Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel analyzes confidential and public depositions, eyewitness accounts, and interviews with victims, witnesses and first responders.
Murdering and wounding Israelis was not the only intent of the Palestinian attackers. “The terrorist organization Hamas chose to harm Israel strategically in two clear ways – kidnapping citizens and committing sadistic sexual crimes,” ARCCI CEO Orit Sulitzeanu said. “Silence will be remembered as a historical stain on those who chose to remain silent and deny the sexual crimes committed by Hamas.”
The report revealed that terrorists, Hamas members and other Palestinians civilians who joined the mayhem, threatened and often injured victims with weapons to rape them individually and in groups. Partners, family, and friends were forced to watch the acts to “increase the pain and humiliation” and evidently to increase the sadistic pleasure of the attackers. Many victims were underage.
Most of those sexually assaulted by Hamas terrorists were killed afterward, and some even before or during the act of rape. There were reports of rapists shooting their victims in the head during the sex act. Others still were found dead later, their genitals mutilated beyond recognition or penetrated with weapons. Attackers sliced off breasts and then tossed to their fellow Palestinians. Weapons and other objects were found embedding in genitals. Severed and mutilated body parts were scattered on the ground.
The report acknowledges that there is no way to accurately measure the full extent of Palestinian terrorists’ sexual violence on that day because most attacks “resulted in the victims’ deaths, making their full extent unknown and possibly unknowable.”
The sexual assaults occurred in four main locations: at the Nova rave festival, in kibbutzim, on IDF bases, and in captivity.
For male and female hostages, the sexual assaults have continued long after October 7. Returned hostages have reported grisly and cruel sexual exploitation, molestation and other violence.
“The report, which will be submitted to the decision makers at the UN, leaves no possibility of it being denied or ignored. The terrorist organization Hamas has chosen to harm the State of Israel with two clear strategies – taking citizens hostage and sadistic sex crimes,” Sulitzeanu said.
“It is no longer possible to remain silent. We expect the international organizations to take a clear position. It is impossible to stand on the sidelines. Remaining on the other side will be remembered as a historic stain on all those who chose to remain silent and deny the sexual crimes committed by Hamas,” she added.
