Terror Group Aligns With Biden Administration Scapegoating Netanyahu as Obstacle to Ceasefire Deal

Hamas has rejected again a U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal aimed at securing the release of hostages and reducing hostilities in Gaza, adding tension to an already fraught situation.

The rejection, coming at a crucial time in negotiations, focuses attention on Israel’s control over the Philadelphi Corridor, a strategic 14-kilometer strip along the Gaza-Egypt border, which Israel has maintained to prevent Hamas from smuggling weapons.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly emphasized the importance of retaining control over the corridor, warning, “We cannot allow the Philadelphi Corridor to become an open highway for Hamas to rebuild its terror infrastructure.” Netanyahu’s firm stance underscores the security concerns in Israel regarding a potential resurgence of Hamas’s military capabilities if the corridor is ceded.

Meanwhile, the U.S. is pushing for an alternative. U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated, “We’ve made very clear what we believe about the possibility of an ongoing Israeli presence in Gaza — we are opposed to it.” The U.S. proposal envisions the Palestinian Authority taking control of the Rafah Crossing, with Israeli oversight being conducted remotely. This plan, however, has been met with skepticism from the Israeli government, which fears that any loosening of its grip on the Philadelphi Corridor could lead to renewed arms smuggling into Gaza.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant voiced strong concerns about the proposal, stressing the need for security guarantees. “We must ensure that any agreement does not enable Hamas to replenish its arsenal,” Gallant said during a briefing, adding that any reduction of Israel’s presence along the border could “pave the way for future conflicts.”

The Philadelphi Corridor has long been a point of contention in the ceasefire negotiations, with Hamas demanding a full Israeli withdrawal. The United States is attempting to broker a solution that balances Israeli security needs with humanitarian concerns for the population of Gaza. As the talks progress, the corridor’s fate will likely play a central role in any long-term resolution, though finding common ground remains elusive.

With Israel remaining steadfast in its security requirements and Hamas unwilling to compromise on its terms, the path to peace appears increasingly difficult, and the stakes for all parties involved continue to rise.

Kudos Bibi. The security of your nation is vital to you. This is the main reason I always endorse your administration. Those who envy you thinks it’s a political move but they are wrong. It’s for the good of the nation. I have only one request: Please find a better way of returning our beloved ones on hostage. This will seal your braveness and love for your country. Well done.

Well, of course they side with other anti-Semites! Biden has more than proven his words are meaningless, when his actions scream hate for Israel! Not sending contracted and promised munitions, sending money and other support to their enemies, trying to prevent them completing their NECESSARY mission to remove Hamas, and insure they never attack Israel again in every way conceivable… Those aren’t the actions of a friend or ally, but of an ENEMY bent on destruction!

Stop looking for “alternatives” that don’t exist!
