Fruit Soup

Thanks to Minette Greenman, who will always be loved as a beloved grandmother!

Ingredients:

2 pounds peaches, peeled, pitted, and cut
2 pounds plums, cut
1 pound pears, peeled, pitted, and cut
1 pound sour cherries, pitted or 1 16-ounce can sour cherries, pitted
1 pound apricots(optional)
1 cup sugar
water
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup cold water

Directions: Place all fruit and sugar in 6-quart pot and cover with water. Cook until fruit is tender. ½-¾ hour. While fruit is cooking, mix flour and water. When flour is completely dissolved add it to soup (around 10 minutes before soup is finished). Bring to boil for remaining 10 minutes. Allow to cool. Yields 8 – 10 servings.
