Down East Pickled Beets

Thanks to Minette Greenman, who will always be loved as a beloved grandmother!

Ingredients:

½ cup white vinegar
Artificial sweetener to equal 2 tablespoons sugar
1½ tablespoons dehydrated onion flakes
3 cloves
1 bay leaf
1 pound canned, sliced beets, undrained

Directions: Combine vinegar. Sweetener, onion flakes, cloves, and bay leaf. Combine with beets and liquid. Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Drain before serving. Divide evenly. Makes 4 servings.
