Brisket with Carrot Tzimmes

Thanks to Minette Greenman, who will always be loved as a beloved grandmother!

Ingredients:

2 pounds fat brisket
5 carrots, sliced
2 teaspoons flour
salt and pepper
2 teaspoons fat
½ cup brown sugar

Directions:
Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper and let stand. Cover with water in pot, let simmer until almonds tender. Add carrots, cover again and simmer until meat and carrots are tender. Heat fat in frying pan, add flour, let cook until mixture bubbles. Gradually add 1 cup liquid from pot, stir while simmering until smooth and thick. Add salt and pepper, and sugar if you want it sweet. Stir until sugar is dissolved. If too thick, add more liquid. Bake in 350F until brown.
