Pickled
Fish
Thanks to Minette Greenman,
who will always be loved as a beloved grandmother!
Cut in round slices salt overnight
3lb. trout
3 pieces pickles (1lb.)
Cook together for 20 minutes the following:
¾c. lemon juice
¾c. sugar
2½ c. water
8 bay leaves
25 all spices
2 onions sliced
¾c. sugar
Put fish in above and cook 35 – 40 min. allow to cool. Take
fish out and place in shallow pan. Strain liquids and pour over
fish. Refrigerate 4 or 5 days before serving.
