Pastal Cookies

Thanks to Minette Greenman, who will always be loved as a beloved grandmother!

Ingredients:

2 cups Margarine
½ tsp. Salt
2 cups confectioners’ sugar
4/1/2 cups Flour

Instructions:

*To measure flour, dip nested dry measuring cups into flour, level off with straight-edged spatula OR sift if you wish

Cream margarine, sugar and salt thoroughly. Add flour and blend thoroughly. If dough is dry and 1 to 2 tbsp. cream. Divide dough into thirds. Add coloring and flavoring as desired (see below). Mold into smooth rolls, 2” in diameter. Place on piece of waxed paper, roll in trim, wrap tightly. Refrigerate.

Heat oven to 375F (quick mod.). Hold cookies at room temperature until easy to slice, yet firm. Slice 1/8” thick; bake on not greased baking sheet 7 to 9 min. Do not brown. Makes about 10 doz.
