Kraut Chocolate Cake

Thanks to Minette Greenman, who will always be loved as a beloved grandmother!

Ingredients:

2/3 c. butter or margarine
1/1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
½ c. cocoa
2/1/4 c. sifted all-purpose-flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. water
2/3 c. rinsed, drained and chopped sauerkraut

Instructions:

Cream margarine and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients; add alt. With water to egg mixture stir kraut. Turn into greased 9*13 pan. Bake at 350F for 40 min. or until done. Top with favorite mocha or chocolate frosting.
