Crunchie Brownie Bars

Oatmeal Layer:
1/1/2 c. quick – cooking oats
¾ c. flour
¾ c. brown sugar
¼ tspn. baking soda
¼ tspn. salt
¾ c. melted margarine

Mix oats, flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in brown sugar and margarine. 9x13 pan; Mix well. Bake 10 min. Prepare brownie layer and bake according to directions:

Frosting:
1/1/2 sq. chocolate
3 Tbspns margarine
2/1/4 confectioner’s sugar sifted
1/1/2 tspn. vanilla
3 Tbspns. hot water

Melt choc. and margarine in small sauce pan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sifted sugar, vanilla and 2 Tbspns hot water. Mix well. Add third tspn and stir in. Spread on cake while frosting is hot.
