Matza Pizza

Cheese Blintzes

Matza Pizza Treatsa!

Serves 4

You need:

Ingredients:
  • 6 matzas
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 9 slices of yellow cheese
  • oil for greasing
Utensils:
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Fork
  • Small Bowl
  • 9 inch baking pan
Pan Pizza!

How to make it:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
  2. Break matza into small pieces. Put into mixing bowl.
  3. Add tap water and soak for 2 minutes to soften. Drain water off.
  4. Beat eggs in small bowl with a fork. Add to mixing bowl.
  5. Add salt and pepper to mixing bowl.
  6. Grease the pan with the oil.
  7. Pour matza mixture into baking pan. Bake for about 10 minutes. Remove from oven.
  8. Add tomato sauce and cheese to baking pan.
  9. Bake the pizza ten more minutes or until the cheese bubbles and melts.

Charoset - The Mortar You Love to Eat!

You need:

Ingredients:
  • 2 large apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup sweet red wine
Utensils:
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Grater
  • Knife
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
Grate the Apple

How to make it:

  1. Wash and peel the apples.
  2. Grate the apples with a grater into a bowl. Throw out the cores.
  3. Add almonds, walnuts and cinnamon to bowl. Mix well with a fork.
  4. Add wine slowly until the mixture forms a paste.
You can add chopped dates or other dried fruits for a variation.


Say "Cheese!" Blintzes

Serves 2

You need:

Ingredients:
  • 4 tbls. butter
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tbls sour cream
  • 2 tbls sugar
  • 2 matzas
  • 1/4 cup oil for frying
Utensils:
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Frying Pan
  • Bowl
  • Fork
  • Knife
  • Spatula

Rinse the Matzah How to make it:

  1. Melt butter in frying pan. Remove the pan from heat. Cut the Matzah in Half
  2. Pour butter into bowl.
  3. Add cheese, 2 eggs, sour cream and sugar to the bowl. Beat well with a fork.
  4. Hold matza under water until wet and soft. Cut each matza in half with a knife.
  5. Put filling onto each piece of matza. try to divide it evenly between the four pieces. Then fold the matza over to cover the filling.

    Dip the Blintze in the Egg Batter
  6. Put the two remaining eggs in a bowl and beat with a fork.
  7. Dip each blintze into the beaten eggs, soaking it well. Fry the Blintzes
  8. Heat oil in frying pan.
  9. Fry the blintzes until the bottoms are golden brown. The flip with the spatula and fry until the other side is golden brown.
  10. Serve with jelly or applesauce.
